Penguin
Just like our name sake, penguins are adaptable, sociable and work well in a team! Miss Lee is the Penguin class teacher all week Monday-Friday. Our lovely teaching assistants are Mrs Trafford, Mrs Pearce and Mrs Beresford. Penguin P.E. days are Monday and Wednesday and we change books on a Friday.
We have lots of exciting and creative things planned for Year 1, so keep an eye out for the curriculum updates on the Curriculum Maps section of the school website, where we will load the overview of the termly plans.
Ms Fletcher (the SEND coordinator) and Mrs Pearce and will also be leading intervention groups in Year 1 for children who need additional support for whatever reason. You will be informed if your child is involved in interventions.

On 5th of November Year 1 celebrated Bonfire Night and the start of our new topic ‘Let’s Celebrate’ with a bonfire!
In the forest we hunted for sticks to toast our marshmallows on as well as dry ones for the fire. We all had a go at whittling the sticks and watched as the teachers lit the fire! Everyone toasted a marshmallow and we ate our delicious smores!
What an exciting way to start the term!
