The school population reflects the local community in terms of diversity and ethnic mix. Diversity within the school is low when compared nationally but this is in line with other schools in the locality. As a result we ensure that cultural diversity is of high importance to the school and provide opportunities for the children to make links with the local and wider community in ways that are relevant and suitable for the age of the children.
Our Equality Policy outlines how we meet our equity duty and replaces our policies on disability, equality and race.
The chart below notes the basic characteristics of the children within the school and show how we compare nationally in terms of diversity.
The progress of all groups of children is monitored carefully 6 times per year during pupil progress meetings which are part of the schools monitoring and evaluation program.
