About the Friends

The Friends of Bromley Heath Infant School (FOS) would like to take this opportunity to tell everyone about the FOS and the fund-raising events due to be held throughout this school year.  The FOS is a vital and valued source of funding for the school and helps to provide many items not funded by the Government.  For those who were unable to attend the recent AGM, we were very pleased to announce that last year was a bumper year for fundraising and, with everyone’s continual support, we were able to donate more than we have ever done before.

The committee meet about once a month at school during the evening. We usually have sub committees to organise each event which spreads the workload more evenly. If you would like more information please see any of the committee members or talk to the school.

Fund Raisers and Donations

Money raised since Sept 2008

• CAKE SALES – We tend to hold these on the last Friday of each half term, the exception being Christmas when we were too busy with other events.  The October cake sale was a great success raising just over £100.
  Thank you again for all your donations and support.

• LADIES NIGHT – Pre Christmas pamper night and ladies shopping.  Seating and bar area extended – Raised £850

• CHRISTMAS FAYRE – Event targeted at the children purely for their enjoyment and providing, of course, a visit to Father Christmas – Raised £1100

• SCHOOL CALENDARS – A new idea combining children’s art with event and school information – Raised £300

Donations

So far this school year we have been able to donate £3110 to school, this has been spent on the following:

• £1000 for summer term school trips
• £1000 for new tables in the reception classrooms
• £100 for a new lawnmower for the gardening club
• £200 for new French books
• £100 for 4 new digital cameras for the children to use in their classrooms
• £300 donation towards Christmas activities ie parties and extra art materials
• £130 school TV licence
• £150 reserved for a wireless keyboard for each class
• £130 towards USB pens

We still have some funds to give and at present are in discussion with the staff as to how it should be spent. Discussions are underway with regards to purchasing a new stage for the main hall and new outdoor play equipment.  This will cost in excess of £3000 so your continued support is absolutely vital to assist with raising this amount.
