FAMILY BARN DANCE
This was a joint sell out event with Bromley Heath Junior School. The bargain Family ticket price of £5.00 attracted families from both of the schools and the infant school children managed to experience a night out in the Junior School Hall. The Jiggerty Barn Dance and Ceilidh Band provided the entertainment from 7.00 - 10.00 and everyone got into the spirit of the music and was up on the floor following the callers moves. Refreshments were available from the bar for adults and there was even some children’s stalls selling cowgirl/boy hats, sweets, crisps and refreshments which the children loved. A total profit of £350 was made, which has been spilt between both schools.

ADULT 80’S NIGHT WITH LIVE BAND
This popular night was well attended and everyone enjoyed dancing the night away to the live band Sci-fi 6, who played two 1 hour sets. The night ended in an 80’s Disco and it was brilliant to see how many people got into the swing of things and came up with some fabulous 80’s costumes! A blast from the past! This event raised £356.
CHILDRENS EASTER EVENT
A fun, creative after school event for all the children which involved them making Easter themed hats, decorating their own Easter Cakes and finally going on an Easter Egg hunt. Thankfully the sun was shinning and the children had lots of fun finding their classroom animals on sticks which were hidden on the school playing field and lazy lawn area. Everyone went home with their beautifully decorated cake, Easter Hat and a Cadbury’s Cream Egg. A super children’s event which was run by some of the FOS committee and Helping Hands, a huge thank you to everyone involved in setting this up and clearing up all the mess afterwards!
BEDTIME STORIES
This was a teacher led event, which took place on World Book Day on 5th March. We had lots of very excited children returning to school at 5.00 in their pyjamas with their teddies close by, ready to enjoy some super stories which were read by the teachers. The hot chocolate, marshmallows and biscuits went down a treat for the children as well as the tea and coffee, which was available for the parents/carers in the school hall. This event managed to raise £202 in profit.
VALENTINES DISCO
DJ Bags of Fun was a big hit with the children. We had a brilliant response from all classes for this event and the children certainly showed him their moves with a boy and girl from each class winning a prize for their brilliant dancing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event and no doubt were ready for their bed when they got home. We made a healthy £276 for this event for the school.
CAKE SALES WITH TEA AND COFFEE – We tend to hold these on the last Friday of each half term after school. We open up the School Hall 45 minutes before the end of the school day so parents/carers can come in and have a tea/coffee and cake and have the opportunity to meet other parents/carers before the cake sale is open to the children after the school. We tend to raise around £130 per sale. Thank you again for all your donations.
CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
Once again this proved to be a popular event with the children. We managed to raise £1150. A big thank you to everyone who helped. This included setting up Santa’s grotto, helping set up stalls, running stalls and then of course clearing it all away afterwards. Thank you also to all the teaching staff who gave up their time to ensure that this event was a great success. Without all your help we couldn’t carry off these events. |
