FORTHCOMING EVENTS – DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

First committee meeting this year to be on 9th Oct 2008, 7pm at school. All welcome to come up with some new ideas for fundraising events.

Friday 14th November - Ladies Night - Further info to follow.

Past Events

SUMMER FAYRE - This was a joint venture (for the 1st time) with the Junior school. The day included bouncy castles, quad bikes, a roundabout, a mini wheel, Punch and Judy, displays of dancing and many other things.

CAKE SALES – We have been holding these on the last Friday of term since December and so far we have raised just over £300. That’s £100 for each sale we have done. Thanks again for all your donations and support.

EASTER DISCO - This was a great success as usual. We had a record number of children attending and there was some great dancing. The children all went home with a small Easter gift and we managed to raise nearly £200.

QUIZ NIGHT - Another healthy amount raised £280. This was not as well supported as in other years which was a bit disappointing, but a good time was had by all. A big thank you to Andy and his team for all their efforts.

LADIES NIGHT
Again what a fantastic night this was for all us women! There were a huge number of stalls offering everything from Christmas cards to jewellery to cakes and a chocolate fountain. We had a number of treatment rooms set up and these seemed to be popular again. In total we raised approximately £1300 and a big thank you to everyone who helped organise this event. Roll on next year’s.

CHRISTMAS FAYRE
Once again this proved to be a popular event with the children. We managed to raise £1285. There were a number of new stalls this year including a children’s tom bola and the fish tank game. Thank you to everyone who donated a prize to the tombola stall. We had lots of generous prizes and it was good that the children benefited from the prizes. Santa was really busy as usual and this year we allocated time slots to try to reduce queuing times. I think most people will agree that this year was much better than last year and with a bit of fine-tuning hopefully we can get it even better next year. The bags of sweets were again a great success and thanks once again for everyone’s contribution.

A big thank you to everyone who helped. This included setting up Santa’s grotto, helping set up stalls, running stalls and then of course clearing it all away afterwards. Thank you also to all the teaching staff who gave up their time to ensure that this event was a great success. Without all your help we couldn’t carry off these events.

We did struggle a bit with helpers this year and you may have been approached in the playground and “bullied” a bit!! If everyone gave up half an hour of his or her time for these big events things would hopefully run a bit smoother. We all have children to care for but we know from experience that they find it great fun to help run a stall or even to help set up or tidy up afterwards. Please bear this is mind when we come to organise our Summer Fayre.
