Staff changes

Mrs Fisher, lunch break supervisor will be leaving at the end of this term on Friday 24 October having worked at our school for several years. We would like to present Mrs Fisher with a leaving gift to acknowledge our appreciation of the role she has fulfilled in ensuring children’s safety and well being at lunchtimes. If you would like to contribute to the gift please send your donation into school by Wednesday 15 October.
Mrs Genny Richens will be our new lunch break supervisor and she will start work at the beginning of Term 2.

Crossing Patrol

You will have noticed that after 4 years there is now a safe place to cross Quakers Road outside both schools. Mrs Hayley Smyth is our crossing patrol officer and she has visited the children in Year 1 and Year 2 to explain her job and how she will help people to cross the road safely. She will talk to the Reception children later in the term.

Recycling Yellow Pages Directories

We have signed up to this worthwhile project by being a collection point  for old Yellow Pages Directories. The children in Year 2 made a sculpture of a rocket with all the 260 directories that we have collected so far. Last collection will be on Thursday 9 October. We also entered the yellow pages sculpture competition.

Parent/Teacher consultations

This is the second year that we are inviting parents to meet with their child’s teacher to discuss how he/she has settled into the new school year. I am aware that the time allocated is relatively brief, however the focus of the meeting is clear and succinct.
You will have had the opportunity to attend information sharing meetings to find out about the learning that is planned for your child throughout this school year.
We shall be inviting you to meet with your child’s teacher on Monday 20 October between 2.00pm and 5.00pm.

Morrisons 'Let's Grow' Promotion

We are collecting vouchers from the Morrisons 'Let's Grow' Promotion. We will be able to exchange the vouchers for gardening tools and seeds that can be used in gardening club. So please collect vouchers from your family and friends to help our club.
