After School Multi -Skills Club
After school on a Tuesday Professional Sports and Fitness Coaches run a multi-skills club for Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.
The sessions offer an opportunity to develop sporting skills such as dodging, jumping, throwing, aiming, catching and teamwork.
The children enjoy the fun activities and also the chance to bring along sporting awards to share with the coaches and the group. |
Gardening Club
Gardening club is fun club where we learn how to plant seeds, grow plants and look after our school garden.
It takes place on Wednesdays after school and is run by Mr Calder, Mrs Crocker and Mrs Jones.

Computer Club
Computer Club runs for three consecutive weeks during each term and caters for groups of 10 year 2 children at a time. In this way, every child in Year 2 will have the opportunity to attend the club at some point in the school year. It is run by Mrs Ashman, although on occasions other teachers may come along to help.
Each session starts with a drink and biscuit as the children listen to an introduction to the session. They discuss their experiences of ICT and have the opportunity to practise some new skills.
The sessions are as follows
- Children work in pairs to create their own short story using ‘To create a Story.’ They find out how to add sound and animation to their work, and experiment to find out which effects are the most successful.
- In this session the children get to grips with the Digital Blue Movie Camera. They take turns at being cameraman and presenter and learn to edit their clips to make a movie. If there is time, they may even add a few special effects!
- In the final session, the children talk about their experiences of the Internet and think about how to surf in safety. They then explore some safe sites and discover for themselves the wealth of games, information and fun available online to help them in their learning.
Over the years, the children have given a great deal of positive feedback about Computer Club and enjoy having the opportunity to work in a small and friendly group. We welcome feedback from parents too!

"Maths Games Library... be even more brilliant at maths!
Our Maths Games Library will be open in the hall every week from 3.15pm until 3.30pm on Thursdays. It is free to borrow a game, so do call in with your child if you would like to borrow one. Your child should then return the game to school on the following Thursday morning. If you do not fetch your child from school on Thursdays, please send a note to Mrs Hulm in Zebra class and she will make sure that your child has an opportunity to borrow a game. Happy playing!" |
