Discipline
We encourage children in good behaviour, and foster a caring attitude so that all may learn, work and play happily together, developing self-discipline and respect for others and property.
You will be given a copy of our ‘Good Behaviour Book, which conveys our positive views about behaviour in school. We also have a Behaviour Management Policy.
All children in school are expected to behave in a reasonable manner. We aim to create a calm, well-organised learning atmosphere to encourage our pupils in good behaviour. If your child's behaviour is causing concern, we will get in touch with you.
Equal Opportunities
The school has an Equal Opportunities and anti-racist Policy in accordance with LEA guidelines.
Health and Safety
Our Health and Safety Policy, formulated by the governing body, is available for your inspection at school. Health and safety is an integral part of all aspects of school life.
Please note
The staff and governors are constantly reviewing our policies and procedures. You will find copies of our policies for your perusal in the school office.
Educational Visits
Visits outside school give children first-hand experience of their environment. These visits are a valuable aspect of school life and we strongly urge parents to allow their child to take part.
The visits may not always be far afield, as exciting possibilities exist within the school grounds and locality. You will be asked to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of visits away from school.
Charging Policy
We have always asked parents to cover the cost of such visits but under the Education Reform Act we are now unable to make such direct charges for activities which take place within school time, such as sewing, food activities, cost of entrance and travel for visits. Instead, all such charges must be voluntary and, as in the past, the suggested contributions will be sufficient only to cover the cost. If parents choose not to pay, the visit may have to be cancelled, but if it does take place, then all children must be included. Any parents concerned about the costs are asked to speak with the Head in confidence and we shall try to help.
Our Charging and Remissions Policy can be seen in school. |
